AHRC The Lodge

Camp transforms people!  Spending time with new peers and staff in a new environment creates a fresh start for everyone and allows for greater growth and independence in a short amount of time.  AHRC New York City, a Chapter of The Arc New York, has operated sleepaway summer camps for over 50 years, providing summer camp experiences to over 1,000 individuals and much-needed respite to their families. We take pride in our two summer camps and are successfully accredited by the American Camping Association, (ACA). 

We have annual inspections from the local New York State Department of Health, and the New York City Department of Mental Health and Hygiene.  We strive to provide a safe, nurturing and fun environment for all the campers that we serve and involve families and caregivers in this process.

AHRC New York City offers thousands of children and adults with developmental disabilities day-to-day living that is as rich, absorbing and worthwhile as possible. An emphasis is placed on helping people to live up to their maximum potential in the community. Our camps are open to all without regard to race, religion, national origin, creed, age or ethnic background. Both sites are fully wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant.
