Kamp Kohut (Maine) is a 4-week brother-sister coed sleepaway camp that has been operating since 1907. It emphasizes personal growth, community, and a warm, nurturing atmosphere. Each session enrolls about 100 boys and 100 girls (ages 7 to 15, entering grades 3–10) and is staffed by roughly 95 resident staff, with over 120 staff in total. Its staff-to-camper ratio is low (about 1:2), and staff are expected to be both bunk counselors and activity specialists. Campers enjoy a broad elective program including arts, athletics, outdoor adventure, media, and waterfront activities, all within a gorgeous natural setting.
