The Fresh Air Fund, founded in 1877, is a nonprofit youth development organization that provides free, life-changing summer experiences to children from New York City’s underserved communities. Through sleepaway camps in the Mid-Hudson Valley, volunteer host families along the East Coast, and NYC-based programs, children gain new experiences, develop skills, and broaden their perspectives. In addition, Fresh Air participants can engage in year-round leadership, career exploration, and educational programs. By investing in each child’s journey, the Fund helps young people learn, grow, and thrive, making the magic of a Fresh Air summer—full of new adventures and friendships—truly transformative.
